Web design and writing craft webinars FAQs
If you see any questions that are not answered below, contact us and we will try to help. Please always check back here, in case things have changed.
How do I attend your webinars?
Our webinars are provided over Zoom. You will require a functioning internet connection, and a device capable of using that to connect to the Zoom website or app. You may also need a webcam, which maybe integrated or separate. You will require a headset or integrated speaker to hear the webinar, plus a microphone to ask questions (though you may also use Zoom’s chat functions to interact in classes if you prefer).
Alternatively, you can attend via a smart device such as phone or tablet that is capable of using the Zoom app. See more below.
Set up a free user account (no need to buy a license) with Zoom. When you click the link in your ticket purchase receipt email (make sure to do so on the right device!) it will send you to either the website or app. Alternatively, you can use the login info provided such as room number and passcode.
Always check your inbox and spam folders after purchase to find the receipt, and if you still cannot see the information, contact us and we will resend.
And don’t forget to add the event to your calendar!
How can I attend on other devices than a laptop / pc?
Download the Zoom official app from Android or Apple stores and log in on your free account that you set up at Zoom. You will then click on the link we will supply in your ticket purchase receipt email with the instructions a few minutes before the event start time. Make sure to do this on the phone or device relevant. Alternatively, start up the Zoom app and type in the room number and passcode, also in the email.
What will the format of each webinar be like?
Each webinar will have its own features, but they will mostly likely follow this format:
One or two speakers will offer a presentation or discussion on the topic as supplied in the event details. Attendees will be invited to ask questions at given points so as not to break the flow. Exercises or demonstrations may also take place, or participatory items.
Attendees may choose whether or not to show their faces or use their microphones as they feel comfortable with. There is no mandatory participation expectations. If you simply wish to watch quietly, we will respect this.
Will you be recording the webinars?
As a rule, at this time, no. Each webinar will be provided live and not available for catchup.
If there is any event that will be recorded, it will be explicitly stated in the event description text.
Participants will receive a link to the presentation deck in PDF format for each webinar for their own review but we strongly suggest taking notes for information that is presented verbally, such as asides, expansions, elaborations, questions answered and so on.
We ask that you do not share the presentation deck PDF with anyone else who did not attend, as this can represent direct income that may be taken away from us.
What should I wear, lol?
Clothes! Anything that makes you comfortable and will cover you sufficiently for general modesty (UK secular standards we suppose?). Other than that, it is not a formal dress code. PJs are welcomed! Your favourite band t-shirt! A lovely dress that makes you feel confident! A cosy cardigan! It’s up to you. And, to be honest, if you have no intention of turning on your camera, no-one else need see in any case. Brush your hair or don’t. We don’t mind.
Can I chat to the other participants?
Honestly, you probably won’t have time! But seriously:
Not without their express and explicit permission, please. This is a semi-professional environment, and folks are here to learn, not to be harassed.
We take our attendees’ safety seriously and if a person abuses the Zoom chat function, or tries to doxx or stalk anyone, they will be permanently banned from participation, and may be reported to authorities.
See more about our privacy policies.
What if I have to cancel my attendance at the webinar?
We will offer you a refund, the full amount minus any PayPal transaction fees, if you contact us to let us know up to 1 hour before the event start time. We will perhaps not have time to reverse the charges until after the event! Please allow us a few days’ grace to get this admin work done.
You may prefer to try to re-book on the same webinar at a later date, just contact us to arrange this. If we have sufficient notice, you will not be charged again.
Any time you attempt to cancel less than 1 hour before start, we will offer no refunds.
Do your webinars guarantee a good result for me?
All our information received during a webinar and in resultant product (such as presentation decks and other materials), is provided in good faith and to the best of our abilities, but we cannot guarantee your attendance will result in any particular outcome. We also cannot guarantee 100% accuracy and infallibility for all time. We will do our best, but we are only human. Your use of the information provided is up to you. We are simply sharing what we’ve learned and what may have worked for ourselves in the past.
All information is provided as is, for informational and entertainment purposes only, without warranty. Any attendee should do their own due diligence before acting on any recommendations. Do not make any financial or personal commitment without, at minimum, doing your own research into the information you have learned here at bibliotta! See more information in our terms and conditions page.
I have skills, perhaps I could be a speaker for one of your webinars?
No doubt you have something valuable to offer, however, I will not be looking for unsolicited guest speakers at this time, sadly. I have a list of people that I wish to invite as guest speakers already, and I will not have much time to develop new relationships with people I do not personally know, as things stand currently.
That may change in the future, who knows? But for now any unsolicited offers will be ignored. Sorry!
